Vin Diesel's Bloodshot Release Goes Digital Over Coronavirus

Vin Diesel's much-awaited movie Bloodshot will not have a proper theatrical release. With the situation around the globe getting worse over coronavirus, the makers have decided to put the movie on a digital platform. Bloodshot was bankrolled by Sony Pictures. Tom Rothman, the chairman of Sony, said that considering the circumstances because of which theatres are shut down, they don't want to delay the release any longer.

The movie hit theatres last week but it failed to rake in impressive figures at the box office. The box office collections from Bloodshot was said to be at a 20-year low.

Rothman released a statement saying, "Sony Pictures is firmly committed to the theatrical exhibition and we support windowing. This is a unique and exceedingly rare circumstance where theatres have been required to close nationwide for the greater good and Bloodshot is abruptly unavailable in any medium."

The deaths from novel coronavirus around the world have crossed 10,000 and infected around some 2 lakh people. Movie production has been halted to contain the spread of Covid19.
