Vijay Sethupathi's film awaits release for a year now

Surprising, but true! Vijay Sethupathi, a hotshot hero in Tamil cinema has two films awaiting release for reasons not clearly known to many. While one briefly saw some buzz when it was announced that it will take the OTT route, the other is languishing.

'Maamanithan', a production backed by Ilaiyarajaa family, with the maestro's sons Yuvan Shankar Raja and Karthik Raja as co-producers has been directed by Seenu Ramasamy, who launched Sethupathi in the cine industry.

In a recent tweet, the director has announced that the re-recording for the film has been completed by the music director while Yuvan Shankar Raja is finishing the work related to the songs. Replying to a query made on Twitter, the director, however, confessed he had no clue when the film will see the light of the day. The film was launched in December 2018 and has fulfilled all its shooting commitments.
