Update: 2020-03-04 00:24 IST

Rubbishing rumours that superstar Mahesh Babu has declined to do a film with his friend and director Vamsi Paidipally because of a hefty pay cheque, a source close to the actor says, "Mahesh Babu is not fancied with big pay cheques and has always been accommodative to producers.

Actually, Vamsi Paidipally has come up with a 'gangster' story and Mahesh was reluctant to play a dark role at this stage of his career, so it has been dropped,"

Actually, after the super success of 'Maharshi,' Mahesh Babu has decided to give one more chance to his director Vamsi Paidipally. In fact, the initial plan was to start their project after 'Sarileru Neekevvaru.'

"Mahesh Babu was on a holiday with his family in USA last month. He also asked Vamsi to join him on the trip. He spent quality with the director.

When he heard the final draft, he was not convinced about the dark movie. He had played a Chief Minister in 'Bharat Ane Nenu' and a business tycoon in 'Maharshi'.

After essaying positive and inspiring roles, he didn't want to disturb the pattern of his movies with a tale of a goon," the source adds.
