GITAM admissions open: GAT-2020 notification released

Hyderabad: In view of growing demand and future opportunities, a full-fledged B-Tech programmes specialization with Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML), Internet of Thinks (IoT), VLSI Design, Medical Electronics, Robotics & Automation, Cyber Security and Data Sciences will be introduced by the GITAM Deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad, from the 2020-21 academic year. GITAM, Hyderabad Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. N.Siva Prasad released the GITAM Admission Test notification (GAT-2020)

Addressing a press conference at a reputed hotel in Hyderabad on Tuesday, Pro VC informed that GAT-2020 will be conducted from April 11-21,2020 at 50 centres across the country. The admission into 19 B.Tech., 12 M.Tech. and B.Parmacy programs is based on rank obtained in the admission test, he added.

New Programs Offered in B.Tech.

1. All B.Tech. programs of Civil, CSE, ECE and Mechanical are specialised with AI & ML and IOT.

2. CSE – specialization with Cyber Security and Data Science

3. ECE – specialization with VLSI Design

4. EEE - specialization with Robotics and Automation

5. Mechanical Eng. – specialised with Smart Manufacturing and Electric & Hybrid Vehicles

New Programs Offered in M.Tech.

1. Civil Engineering with Computer Aided Structural Analysis & Design

2. Mechanical Engineering with Manufacturing Technology & Automation

3. Mechanical Engineering with Computer Aided Engineering

How to Apply:

1. Application form can be downloaded / submitted online at www.gitam.edu.

2. GAT-2020 applications are also available throughout India at selected branches of Union Bank of India, Indian Bank, and Karur Vysya Bank

3. The last date to apply for GAT-2020 is 30th March 2020.

4. GAT results will be announced on 25th April 2020.

5. The counselling for admissions will be held in the second week of May 2020.

About GAT-2020:

The applicants can download the GAT syllabus directly from GITAM website. GAT will be conducted for admission to UG and PG Programs in Engineering, Pharmacy & Architecture disciplines. A candidate can choose a convenient test centre, date and time as per his/her convenience. It is a 2-hour test and the students have to attempt 100 questions. The score will be known immediately after completing the test. Students can write the online admission test at GITAM Hyderabad Campus, Nagole, Secunderabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Nizamabad & Warangal centers in Telangana State.

Financial Assistance

To encourage students at national level, GITAM has decided to offer merit scholarships of Rs.30 crores from 2020 academic year, Prof. Siva Prasad said. The university would offer free education to top rankers in GAT-2020 and other entrance tests such as JEE main exam, AP-EAMCET and Telangana EAMCET.

1. Merit Scholarships in the form of fee concession to top 3000 rankers of GAT-2020 for admission into B.Tech., programs:

2. 1 to 50 rankers will get 100% fee concession

3. 51 to 250 rankers will get 75% fee concession

4. 251 to 1000 rankers will get 50% fee concession

5. 1001 to 3000 rankers will get 25% fee concession

6. JEE Main - 2020 Ranks:

7. 1 to 500 rankers will get 100 % fee concession

8. 501 to 5,000 rankers will get 75% fee concession

9. 5,001 to 10,000 rankers will get 50% fee concession

10. 10,001 to 1,00,000 rankers will get 25% fee concession

11. AP & TS EAMCET-2020 Ranks:

12. 1 to 250 rankers will get 100 % fee concession

13. 251 to 1000 rankers will get 75% fee concession

14. 1001 to 5000 rankers will get 50% fee concession

15. 5001 to 25,000 rankers will get 25% fee concession.

Fee concessions will be continued in 2nd, 3rd and Final year B.Tech., subject to scoring 8.0 and above CGPA every year.

1. Merit Scholarships will be awarded to top 2% of B.Tech., students in each department of GITAM Institutes @Rs.50,000/- per year, subject to scoring 8.0 and above CGPA every year.

2. Teaching Assistantships will be offered to the meritorious M.Tech. students @Rs.50,000/- per year.
