Human excellence starts from self confidence

Hyderabad: 'Self-confidence is extremely important in almost every aspect of our lives, yet so many people struggle to find it. One's self confidence increases from experiences of having mastered particular activities. It is a positive belief that in the future one can generally accomplish what one wishes to do' said Swami Bodhamayananda, Director, Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence. He interacted with B.Tech 1st year students of School of Technology, GITAM Deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad on Monday.

The main aim of the interaction is to instill faith in oneself and impart nobler values of life and life-giving strength, to raise individuals to higher levels of strength and felicity with spiritual, moral, ethical and eternal values of personality development and human excellence. Swamiji spelt out three fundamental tenets that he wanted all the students to keep in mind that Head to think Heart to feel and Hands to work. He advised the budding engineers to depend up on their own strengths. He told that the self knowledge makes the difference. Swamiji exhorted the students that India needs originality and self reliance. While telling the importance of discipline, he said that self discipline will take one's self esteem. Bodhamayananda advised the budding engineers to read the biography of Swami Vivekananda.

Later, K. Ravikanth Reddy, Deputy Editor, The Hindu guided on 'fishing of newspaper' (how to read a newspaper). He said that the newspapers give authentic news, what's happening in the society, across the country and the world. The habit of news paper reading will improves the communication skills, vocabulary, writing abilities in a good style, how to understand about an issue and to know the clear picture. He sincerely advised that not to depend on WhatsApp messages and strongly advised to read any one of newspaper at least half-an-hour per a day.

Earlier, a 10-year-old girl Lakshmi Srija (pursuing 7th Class) interacted with GITAMITES and continuously spoke about half-an-hour on the topics like importance of education, values and the importance of environment.
