A high-level Quantum Technology Roundtable will convene on November 19 during the Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS), bringing together senior ministers, industry leaders and global experts to outline Karnataka’s roadmap for emerging quantum technologies.

Minister for Minor Irrigation, Science and Technology N.S. Boseraju announced that the closed-door session will feature representatives from companies working across the quantum ecosystem, alongside top policymakers including IT & BT Minister Priyanka Kharge, Industries Minister M.B. Patil and Higher Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar. Experts from premier institutions such as IISc, AWS, Swissnex and QpiAI are also scheduled to participate.

According to the Minister, the roundtable will focus on shaping the “Quantum City” vision—an initiative aimed at positioning Karnataka as a national leader in quantum research, innovation and commercial adoption. Discussions will span the creation of specialised research clusters, building high-precision manufacturing capabilities, enabling quantum-focused startups, and setting up advanced training programmes to address the talent pipeline required for the sector.

Boseraju said Karnataka continues to hold a competitive advantage due to its strong academic base, concentration of deep-tech enterprises and Bengaluru’s standing as a global innovation hub. “The State already has the building blocks for a vibrant quantum ecosystem, supported by world-class talent and research infrastructure,” he noted, adding that the roundtable is expected to outline targeted interventions needed to accelerate the sector’s growth.

The session will also seek expert guidance on policy frameworks, industry-academia collaboration models and potential international partnerships, as Karnataka looks to establish itself as a preferred destination for quantum research and investment.

The outcomes of the roundtable are likely to feed into long-term planning for the State’s science and technology sector, ahead of larger initiatives expected to be unveiled under the “Quantum City” programme.
