Ramzan is the holy month for Muslims but the feasts prepared during Ramzan are immensely enjoyed by people from all faiths. Haleem is one such delicacy of Ramzan that is devoured by many. People flock to the streets after iftar to dig into this dish to their heart's content. Golden Star Bakery, Tukaram Gate

"This is our eighth year of serving haleem during Ramzan. We serve both chicken and mutton haleem but customers love our mutton haleem a little more. Customers come from far-away Secunderabad and Tarnaka to have our haleem. We are very thankful for the love and support we receive from our customers, " proudly said Mohd Arif, owner of Golden Star Bakery, Tukaram Gate. Agreed Mohd Rafi, a customer: "This is my favourite place to have haleem. I love their mutton haleem very much and end up having 2 plates by myself whenever I come here. The taste is very authentic and everyone should come and try haleem here." Vouches Sanju, another customer, "My favourite here is the chicken haleem, I love it a lot. The taste is very unique; it has the perfect blend of spices and meat which makes the dish flavorful. I come here every alternate day after iftar to have haleem."

Bismillah Chicken Haleem, East Anandbaug

"It's been 14 years since we've been serving delicious haleem to our customers during Ramadan. Everyone around here loves our haleem a lot and has shown their love over the years. Customers come here from ECIL, Tarnaka and Secunderabad just to have our haleem," said S K Khan, owner, Bismillah Chicken Haleem, at East Anandbaug.

Shravan, a customer, says, "This place has been serving delicious haleem for several years. I've been visiting here for the past 6 years. I often come with my friends to hang out here during Ramadan. The ambience is also good for spending time with you friends." Kumar, another customer, said: "This centre is very famous around here and we all eagerly wait for Ramzan so that we can come here and have haleem. The taste has a homely feel to it and that's the reason so many people often return to eat again."

Dolphin Biryani House, Malkajgiri

"Our restaurant has completed 10 years of serving delicious biryani and it has been three years since introduced haleem here. The response we received for our haleem was amazing. In the month of Ramzan, a lot of customers visit here and have haleem instead of biryani. This shows how much people love our haleem and how eagerly they wait for Ramzan; Just to come here and have haleem," said Bhanu Kiran who runs Dolphin Biryani House at Malkajgiri. Testifying to this, Narendra, a customer, said: "This place has been very famous for its biryani around here for several years. For the past three years, during Ramadan, we've been visiting here for their haleem which is as good as their biryani. The taste is very authentic because of the use of pure ingredients which gives the haleem an addicting flavor."

KGN-Chicken Haleem, North Lalaguda

hen we started this haleem centre, we wanted to be different from others in terms of quality, taste and service. That's why we introduced a scheme where you can have three plates of haleem in 120rs. We were the first one to come up with such idea and it helped us gain a lot of customers," informed Jahangir Pasha, the proprietor of KGN-Chicken Haleem located in North Lalaguda.

Rajshekhar, a customer, shared: "This is the only place I know where one can have three plates of Haleem for only Rs 120. Besides being affordable, haleem here is very tasty too and one can come here with their family to have haleem." Shree, another customer, said: "The haleem here is very tasty and has a very unique aroma which, I think, is the reason behind its popularity. It is also very affordable as anyone can come here and have haleem for a very less price."
