BJR Nagar park turns dump yard

Update: 2019-07-21 23:27 IST

Jammigadda: The condition of the GHMC Park in BJR Nagar Colony in Jammigadda has turned from bad to worse due to the lack of proper maintenance. As there are no parks in the area, residents, especially children and retired employees, are the most affected.

The GHMC Park is filled with concrete bricks, wild growth of plants and garbage. The stench emitting from the garbage in the park is also causing lot of inconvenience to the primary health centre of the Kapra Circle, which is close to the park.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Sunday, Saritha V, a local said, "This is the only park in this area. More than a park, it has become a dump yard. This is resulting in the breeding of mosquitoes."

Kishore R, owner of Jai Ambe Kirana Stores, said, "People are helpless as the authorities are not taking action. The absence of street lights too is causing lot of inconvenience. The park has become a haven for rodents."
