Drainage overflow irks locals

Chinthal: Residents of New Vivekananda Nagar have been facing severe inconvenience due to drainage overflow in the Colony for two months now. The locals alleged that though there had been several complaints to the civic authorities, no one has turned to resolve the issue.

"We have informed it with the higher officials, but no one has come to rescue us from the odour smell of drainage overflow. For two months now, no officials turned to resolve the issue.

It is getting worse day by day. The filthy water is overflowing on roads and floating in front of our houses. The foul smell is unbearable. Due to recent rain, the overflow has increased," said a local resident.
