Heaps of garbage dumped at open plot

Sainathpuram: An open plot in Sainathpuram is completely covered with plastic waste. In spite of putting up a banner warning people not to dispose waste in the area, the people from the nearby areas have been throwing leaving plastic bags filled with garbage.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Friday, R Rajeshwari, a resident of the area said, "Everyday in the early morning, there are many people who come and throw garbage on this plot. We have also asked the GHMC to remove the garbage box."

Giri Goud, a retailer said, "The sanitation workers do not collect the garbage and when we ask them to remove it, they ask for extra amount. There is a park adjacent to this plot where we play badminton and where children also play. The foul smell here is unbearable. It is becoming difficult for us as the environment is getting polluted."
