Hyderabad: SCR warm gesture to deprived sections

Hyderabad: People are suffering a lot due to chilled weather as mercury is continuously dropping. Moved by the pathetic conditions of the deprived sections, South Central Railway's Guntakal Division made a new beginning in the new year with a social cause initiative named as 'Prematho.' Alok Tiwari, DRM, Guntakal division, informed the venue of the mission is located on the approach road to Guntakal railway station.

Under this initiative, Railway officers and staff are motivated and urged to donate any kind dress material, bed sheets, winter wear etc., new or used clothes, or any other individual and domestic utility articles. In response, a good number of people came forward with donations.

Given the importance of the cause, a large number of people and civil societies are also coming forward to contribute their part. Poor and Needy people who are in need of clothes and other utility articles can visit the location to just pick and take away the required material as per their choice and need. Bala Muralidhar, Senior Divisional Personnel Officer, Guntakal Division is actively coordinating the program.

Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR, appreciated the efforts made by Guntakal division to serve the cause of poor and needy. 'Serve with a Smile' has been the motto of South Central Railway and it has become a reality with the new concept, he stated.
