Roads in Secunderabad Cantonment closed till Sep 29

Secunderabad: Several roads in Secunderabad Cantonment would be closed between 10 pm and 7 am till September 29. The Local Military Authority (LMA) placed boards at the entrance of Allahabad gate and Wellington Road citing high security alert.

Anoop Kumar, a resident of Sainikpuri, said, "The LMA and the SCB should stop playing with the lives of common people living within and around SCB. The frequent, sudden and unannounced closure of public roads is causing severe inconvenience to lakhs of commuters. Such acts seriously erode the respect and trust that people have towards the armed forces personnel.

"In the name of the security alert, it is often found that LMA is hoodwinking the commuters. It is high time that MOD takes stringent action. According to the whims of top officials, they are closing the road without informing the locals and there is no logic in this closure," said Open Secunderabad Cantonment All Roads (OSCAR), spokesperson, S Chandrasekhar.
