Special drive to collect junk from homes held

Mallapur: As part of GHMC's special drive to collect scrap and disposable items from people, the sanitation staff of GHMC Kapra circle collected scrap from Shakti Sai Nagar Colony in Mallapur division on Monday. GHMC Deputy Commissioner Shailaja, local corporator Pannala Devender Reddy, AMHO Dr Maithreya and GHMC officials participated in the programme.

Sanitation staff collected scrap and disposable items such as broken furniture, mattresses, plastic and iron materials from colony residents.GHMC has been conducting the 10-day special drive titled 'Recyclothon' from Sunday to collect scrap to ensure that they do not end up in drains.

Among those who participated in the programme were GHMC staff Swapna, Manga, Naresh, Mukesh, local TRS leaders Kiran Reddy, Ramulu, Satish, ward members Praveen, Upender Rao, B Lakshminarayana, Shyamsunder Reddy, S Vijay, Narender Reddy, Rupender Reddy, Mahender, Ramulu, Srinivas, Shiva and others.
