Student JAC's vain bid to storm Bus Bhavan

Musheerabad: JAC of various student associations tried to storm into Bus Bhavan, demanding the State government to resolve RTC strike, on Monday. Student activists of PDSU, AISF, SFI, TVV and AIDSO participated in the protest.

The attempt to lay siege to Bus Bhavan was foiled as police prevented students from entering Bus Bhavan. Tension prevailed as students tried to push away police and argued with them. Police arrested student leaders and shifted them to various police stations.

Stressing on resolving the issue as soon as possible, the student leaders demanded that the State government call RTC JAC for discussions immediately. They also demanded that the government pay the bus pass subsidy of Rs 600 crore to RTC management.

They expressed concern that the strike may affect the education as about 6 lakh students use RTC buses to commute to their schools. Denouncing the government apathy towards RTC employees, they demanded criminal cases be filed against KCR for the deaths caused during the strike.

SFI state president Murthy, secretary T Nagaraju, PDSU state president Jupaka Sreenu, secretary B Ramu, AISF state secretary Shivaramakrishna, Rangareddy district secretary Kranthi, Putta Lakshman, AIDSO state secretary Gangadhar, SFI state vice president Javed, Hyderabad city president Ashok Reddy, state committee members A Sathyanarayana, Ushakiran, B Swathi, Prathiba, PDSU Hyderabad district president Riaz, Ganesh, Eshwar and other student leaders participated in the protest.
