Transformers sans fencing pose risks

Cantonment: Electric transformers and electric poles in Maredpally, Bowenpally and Begumpet divisions in Secunderabad Cantonment Board area are causing panic among people.

There is no proper fencing to the transformers and even waste plants have grown up around them. Some of hotel managements and push cart owners are dumping garbage near the transformers. Many animals lost their lives due to electric shocks as they come in contact with electric wires near transformer.

In the past, a boy who went for a ball lost his life due to electric shock. Recently, an electric shock took place at Kharkhana transformer. Officials arranged some stones near the danger zone and ignored. Local residents are requesting officials to solve the problem at the earliest.
