Tirupati: BJP flayed the decision to organise Christmas celebrations in police stations in the state. Addressing media here on Sunday, party MP G V L Narasimha Rao lambasted the move saying that the government has been encouraging Christianity. BJP takes this as a government sponsored programme and if the government does not go back on this, it has to face serious consequences, he warned. "Is it secularism? It is a state sponsored attempt for conversions," he commented.

Out of the annual budget of Rs 3,310 crores of TTD, it has been spending a meagre Rs 100 crore on Hindu Dharma Parirakshana which is not enough. He demanded spending of more by TTD to prevent conversions in the state.

Quoting the suicide of a minority family, he said that both TDP and YSRCP have been encouraging religious politics which the BJP is condemning. In Telangana state, TRS and MIM are cooperating with each other where one surgical strike is enough. But, in AP both YSRCP and TDP are indulging in religious politics who need twin electoral surgical strikes, he stated.

Commenting on the three farm Acts, he said that the farmers' agitations were confined to one or two states alone because of vested interests of some political parties. The Acts clearly stated that market yards will continue and farmers interests will be safeguarded fully. The Farmers Agreement Act will provide security to farmers, he pointed out.

Referring to the Tirupati parliamentary byelection, he said that BJP was wishing to contest the seat with the support of Jana Sena and a final decision will be taken in this regard after due consultations. "BJP has brought in a sea change in terms of infrastructure development under various schemes. All the visual development everywhere was the result of BJP policies. We will show it visually during byelections and earn people's confidence" he hoped.

He stressed that BJP will fight against the YSRCP government for their rampant corruption and will expose this. He doubted whether there is any match fixing between the YSRCP and TDP and the government was silent on its commitment to take action against the erstwhile government's corruption charges. Both TDP and YSRCP governments have failed to give land at one place for the industrial node at Tirupati area under Visakhapatnam – Chennai industrial corridor for which they should feel ashamed.

Speaking on the occasion, party state general secretary S Vishnuvardhan Reddy demanded immediate resignation of Endowments Minister Vellampalli Srinivas for announcing that he will protect Dargahs in the state. Being an Endowments minister, he has to protect Hindu properties. Without doing this, he is making shameful comments which no other endowments minister has never made so far. Party spokespersons Samanchi Srinivas and Kola Anand were also present
