Visakhapatnam: ECoR bags Best Zonal Railway Shield

Visakhapatnam: East Coast Railway (ECoR) has been selected for the most prestigious Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant Best Zonal Railway Shield-2020 for all round performance among all the zones in Indian Railways.

This is the third time the ECoR will bag the shield after it received the shield in 2008-09 and 2015-16.

Instituted in memory of the freedom fighter and former Union Minister Late Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal will hand over the shield during the ensuing railway national award function.

Goods traffic, punctuality, passenger traffic, capacity utilisation of repair workshop out-turn, coach performance and other parameters were considered for the shield.

This apart, ECoR will also receive traffic transportation shield, accounts and financial management shield and sales management shield during the award presentation ceremony.
