Hathway MD held for cheating, harassment

Hyderabad: The Gachibowli police on Thursday arrested Hathway Managing Director Ch Rajshekhar and produced him before the Court on the allegations of cheating, harassment, and assault charges. According to police, they received a written complaint on April 26, from Edupalli Sailaja, resident of Hill Ridge Villas at Gachibowli stating that she was divorced in 2015.

Taking the advantage of her situation, Ch Rajashekhar offered to marry her and convinced her son, daughter and her parents as well for marriage and performed marriage on August 25, 2016 at Leela Palace in Bengaluru. She further alleged that later he started harassing her for additional dowry, mentally and physically from 2017 onwards.

To get rid of the situation, she kept all her jewellery at Muthoot Finance and gave him Rs 1.2 crore. Later, she found out that he is not divorced from his first wife. She alleged that he cheated her and her family and molested, assaulted and threaten her with dire consequence. Based on the complaint police registered a case against him under sections 406, 420, 494, 495, 498-A IPC and section 4, 6 of DP Act and are investigating.
