Driving Digital Resilience Through Automation and Cloud Innovation
From optimising cloud-native platforms to spearheading automation-driven transformations, Manogna Sammeta, a seasoned Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) based in Sunnyvale, California, is redefining how modern IT infrastructure is built and maintained. With a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Central Missouri and a Bachelor’s in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Manogna blends deep technical expertise with a pragmatic approach to reliability engineering.
Her journey into SRE was sparked by a passion for transforming business operations through technology. “Engineering has always fascinated me for its problem-solving potential,” says Manogna. “Site Reliability Engineering offered the perfect blend of development and operations—two worlds I wanted to bring closer for better system efficiency.”
In her work, Manogna emphasises a methodical approach to infrastructure design, one rooted in scalability, security, and long-term performance. She relies heavily on monitoring tools, system telemetry, and KPIs like uptime, MTTR, and MTBF to drive reliability plans. “Metrics are the compass that guide our decisions,” she notes. “But it’s the interpretation of those metrics in the context of user experience that truly measures success.”
Balancing stability with innovation remains one of the most critical challenges in her role. To tackle this, Manogna has built robust testing frameworks and controlled deployment environments. “We encourage experimentation, but it must happen within boundaries that won’t compromise system integrity,” she explains. Automated rollback strategies and transparent CI/CD pipelines are essential safeguards in this fast-paced landscape.
A strong advocate for cross-functional collaboration, Manogna leads by fostering open communication across development, security, and business teams. “We need shared goals, not just shared tools,” she emphasises. Regular technology forums and shared documentation practices help her teams align on technical strategy while respecting diverse domain priorities.
Manogna also champions a data-driven culture, particularly in incident management. “Every incident holds a lesson,” she says. “Root cause analysis and proactive monitoring turn setbacks into steps forward.” Her focus on long-term infrastructure resilience drives her to empower teams to think beyond fixes and towards continuous improvement.
Looking ahead, she is particularly excited about the role of container orchestration, serverless computing, and AIOps in redefining system flexibility and responsiveness. “The future lies in intelligent systems that not only detect issues but also predict and resolve them autonomously,” she adds.
Beyond the backend, stakeholder engagement is central to her strategy. Dashboards with real-time performance insights and capacity planning tools offer transparency. “When stakeholders see the value and stability we’re building, they become partners in innovation,” she says.
In every facet of her work, Manogna Sammeta is driving towards a future where infrastructure is not just scalable and secure—but intelligent, adaptive, and empowering.
