Ugadi, Navaratri, Gudi Padwa: PM Modi Greets Extends Greetings, Calls For United Fight Against COVID-19

In a series of tweets Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked greeted the people of India for a number of festivals being celebrated on Wednesday across the country. PM Modi tweeted to say that the peope are "celebrating various festivals across India and also the start of a New Year as per our traditional calendar." The Prime Minister conveyed his greetings on Ugadi, Gudi Padava, Navreh and Sajibu Cheiraoba. He hoped and wishes that these "auspicious occasions bring good health, happiness and prosperity in our lives."

PM Modi also referred to the festival celebrations with the deadly COVID-19 virus lurking in the background, disrupting life everywhere. He said, "We are marking these festivals at a time when our nation is battling the COVID-19 menace. The celebrations will not be like they are usually, but they will strengthen our resolve to overcome our circumstances. May we keep working to fight COVID-19 together."

PM Modi extended his greetings to the people of the country on the occasion of the Navaratri celebrations and wished them good health.



India has recorded 562 confirmed cases of COVID-19 so far with more than 500 active cases at the moment. The deadly virus has claimed the lives of 11 people. Maharashtra has accounted the highest number of cases (107) followed by Kerala (105). 46 cases are reported to have either been cured or discharged following recovery.
