While hubby Trump cracks trade deal, Melania observes 'Happiness Class'

New Delhi: As part of her two-day India visit, US first lady Melania Trump on Tuesday visited a government school in South Delhi to attend a session of the happiness class.

She interacted with students at the Delhi government school and witnessed various activities conducted as part of the happiness curriculum. Wearing tilak, Melania walked into the school and shook hands with a young student before being taken away inside for a tour where she experienced the happiness curriculum first hand.

There were 24 students in the class of happiness curriculum that Melania Trump attended. The school was decked up with floral garlands and motifs, welcoming the US first Lady.

Floral rangolis were also drawn at multiple places in the school and she was welcomed by a student band, and police took command of the security system here.

The first lady was gifted Madhubani paintings made by the students of the school.

"Thank you for welcoming me. This is my first visit to India. The people here are full of warmth and are good," she said.' "I cannot think of a better way for all of us to start our day than this," the first lady said after witnessing the curriculum. She said that she was "inspired" by the happiness curriculum.

Melania advised students to be "good to each other" through their life and thanked the teachers for inculcating good values in them.

The Delhi government started the happiness class from nursery to eighth grade two years ago. The aim is to reduce the stress among children and to get them studying in a cheerful environment.
