RMC to rev up AVA road construction

Rajamahendravaram: The Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) Commissioner, V Vijayarama Raju has directed RMC engineers to complete the construction of Aanala Venkata Apparao cement road.

After inspecting the progress of cement road construction works here on Monday, he said that the corporation had sanctioned an amount of Rs 50 lakh for the 2-km-long road between Church to GAIL office. “Traffic movement was increased on the road, as many RTC buses were plying on this road and also many offices as well as educational institutions were located in the vicinity of the road,” he said.

The official added that plans were afoot to convert the city as a model city in the state. “There is no compromise in maintaining quality of the roads. Stern action would be initiated against the respective engineers if any lapses are found in laying the cement road,” the Commissioner warned. Corporation executive engineer Satyavathi and other officials were present.
