Cops nab burglar, recover booty worth ` 15.63 lakh

Ongole: The Prakasam district police arrested a habitual burglar on Monday. The police recovered gold, silver ornaments and a Bolero jeep from the accused.

According to the district SP, Bhusarapu Satya Yesubabu, one Akkala Sivakotaiah, aged 31 years is a native of Kandukur. He is a carpenter and has two wives, one at Kandukur and the other at Chimakurthi. Unable to meet the needs of two families and the expenses of his personal habits, he started to commit crimes from 2015. He broke into 10 houses in Kandukur and Chimakurthi since then and looted gold, silver jewelry from them.

On Monday, the Kandukur CI Narasimha Rao and his team arrested the accused at Kandukur and recovered 43 sovereigns of gold, 3 kilograms of silver, Rs 80,000 in cash and a Bolero jeep from his possession. The SP appreciated the Kandukur CI and other police officials involved in the arrest of the burglar and presented rewards to them.
