Villagers continue relay fast for basic amenities

Bhimavaram: The indefinite relay hunger strike at Cheregudem by the villagers of Cheregudem and Uppara Gudem in Palakoderu mandal has entered third day on Thursday.The villagers have been demanding the Government to solve their problems immediately. 

The villagers stated that they do not have road access to main areas and in emergency cases, they were facing hardships to reach hospitals and other areas. The villagers raised slogans demanding that the officials construct roads and bridges to create road access to their villages.

These two villages are under Garagaparru Panchayati in Palakoderu mandal. The villagers told the media that even after repeated requests to the MLA, Vetukuri Venkata Sivarama Raju and district officials, no action was initiated to provide the basic amenities to their villages. They reiterated that they would continue the stir until the problems were addressed.
