‘Bird Watching’ aims at protection of birds

 Rajamahendravaram: Andhra Pradesh Forest Academy Deputy Director MV Prasad Rao has underlined the need to protect birds, which are helping to maintain balance in the  eco system.

Participating in Bird Watching programme at Diwancheruvu with forest section officers here on Saturday, he said bird watching programme would help to know about various varieties of birds and also know about environment.

In two-hour bird watching programme, water birds, sun bird, emerald down, parrots, house crow, black dangro, etc were found.Bird Watching programme also helps to know about new birds along with their lifestyle. Many bird species are available in Coringa Bird Sanctuary and Papikondalu National Park.

The forest department is very much particular to protect the birds and conducting awareness programmes on how to move with birds. Everyone should inculcate the habit of bird watching, mainly school and college students, he added.Many forest beat officers participated in Bird Watching programme.
