Update: 2018-02-03 05:17 IST

Guntur: MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao said that the Union Budget disappointed the people of the state and did injustice to the newly formed state of Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to the media in the city on Friday, he felt there is a need to allot more funds to the state because it was facing a severe resource crunch. When asked about a separate railway zone for Andhra Pradesh, he replied that they have been trying to get a separate railway zone, but he has no confidence that the Centre would sanction a separate railway zone for the state.

He said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was holding a meeting at his camp office here on Sunday with the TDP leaders to chalkout the future course of action in the backdrop of injustice done to the state in the Union Budget 2018-19.

Rayapati said that there is a need to mount pressure on the Centre to get more funds for completing the projects and to fulfil the assurances mentioned in the AP State Reorganisation Act and the Chief Minister has to take a decision in this regard.
