Congress three-day ‘Chalo Parliament’ from March 6

Vijayawada: AP Congress Committee president N Raghuveera Reddy here on Saturday announced the three-day agitation ``Chalo Parliament’’ from March 6. Speaking to media persons here, he requested all political parties to join them to fight for protecting interests of the state. He said that the Congress would lay siege to Parliament on March 8, if the Centre fails to implement AP Reorganisation Act.

``The people of the State are angry with the NDA government led by BJP for the gross injustice done to the State,’’ he said.  Raghuveera has said that the time has come to fight unitedly for securing state interests. He requested the political parties to extend their support to their proposed agitation.

 He suggested the parties to fight until they  get justice at this particular juncture by mounting pressure on the Union government. He reminded that the UPA-led Congress government included all the important benefits to the State in the AP Reorganisation Act. He wondered as to why the BJP government was not implementing the Act. 

The Congress would stage protests at all mandal headquarters on February 15, he said and appealed the people to extend their support for the genuine cause. The protests would be continued at revenue divisional headquarters from February 20 to February 28. Congress official spokesperson Kolanukonda Sivaji, AP Mahila Congress president SunkaraPadmashree and other leaders were present.
