Moderate rain forecast for next four days in Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: The Met department bulletin has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers at a few/isolated places in Andhra Pradesh from July 27-30, thanks to the persisting low-pressure area over central parts of south UP and its neighbourhood.  It said on Thursday that the associated upper air cyclonic circulation now extends up to 7.6 km above the mean sea level.

According to the bulletin, the upper air cyclonic circulation lies   over Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over north Bay of Bengal during next two-three days. An upper air cyclonic circulation at 7.6 km above mean sea level lies over interior Odisha and neighbourhood.

The bulletin said the Southwest Monsoon continues to be weak across Andhra Pradesh. Rain occurred at isolated places in East Godavari, West Godavari and Vizianagaram districts during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Thursday.

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) in the state were: Chintur (EG) 3, Kunavaram, Vararamachandrapuram (both EG) 2 each. Meanwhile, the highest day temperature of 38 degrees Celsius was recorded in Bapatla, Kavali, Nellore, Ongole, Jangamaheswarapuram and Tirupati.
