Guntur: Man wishes to bury himself alive, builds a living tomb

An elderly man from Guntur district wished to bury himself alive and even went to build a living tomb in his farmland recently.

The incident came to light on Thursday in Gannavaram of Macharla mandal.

The 70-year-old Lachi Reddy even filed an application to the District Collector to allow burying himself alive. On the directions of the Collector, the police officials reached the spot and intervened in the situation, stopping him from doing so. They even took him into custody and are investigating as to who supported Lachi Reddy in building the living tomb.

According to the locals, Lachi Reddy has been staying away from his family for the past 10 years.

He shared that he was upset with the issues and people in the society.
