Fire breaks out at mobile showroom

Vijayawada: Cell phones and other electronic equipment worth lakhs of rupees was gutted in  a fire accident that took place in  a shop near Ram Mandir on Eluru Road on Sunday. Luckily, the staff working in the shop was not injured in the mishap.

Short circuit may be reason for the mishap. On receiving information, two fire tenders from the fire station near the Police Control Room rushed to the spot and doused the fire. The staff noticed the smoke and alerted the fire department.

The shop owners are estimating the loss. The flames reached the first and second floors causing damage. But, the fire staff successfully prevented the fire spreading to the adjacent building after two hours.
