Sudha Murthy to donate books worth Rs 2.5 cr

Amaravati: Infosys Foundation Chairperson and TTD Trust Board member Sudha Murthy came forward to donate books worth Rs 2.5 crore to students of 1,725 primary schools and 842 high schools in both Krishna and Guntur districts. The philanthropist decided to distribute the books containing moral education values under 250 titles to primary schools and 300 titles to high schools.

It may be noted that Sudha Murthy distributed books  worth Rs 3 crore in 54  schools of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation and 45 government and zilla parishad schools  last year. Sudha Murthy, social worker, was instrumental in development of 60,000 libraries in Karnataka. 

Praising the services of Sudha Murthy, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said Infosys has been providing a helping hand in his mission to transform state into a knowledge hub. Thanking Sudha Murthy for selecting the state for her service, the Chief Minister stated that her move will inspire others.
