260 child marriages prevented in Prakasam District by Prakasam District Legal Services Authority

Ongole: Prakasam District Legal Services Authority along with child line, 1098 and women and child welfare department this year so far prevented 260 child marriages, according to the Authority secretary T Raja Venkatadri.

Speaking during a counselling session on tuesday, at the district court, of parents who tried to conduct a child marriage, he advised them not to marry minors. 

He also cautioned that encouragement of child marriages will attract two year imprisonment with fine of Rs 2 lakh.
