1400 kg cashew nuts seized in Krishna Lanka

Vijayawada: The Task Force police took six persons into custody on Saturday and seized cashew nut weighing 1,400 kg worth at Rs 10 lakh in Krishna Lanka on Saturday. 

According to the Task Force police, the six-member gang purchased cashew nut at a low price in East Godavari and brought to Vijayawada in two vehicles without proper documents and tried to sell to the traders at Krishna Lanka. 

They have not taken e-Way bills for transportation of cashew nut. 

On a tip off, the police nabbed six persons Kumpatla Veera Venkata Satya Srinivas, Achanta Srinivasa Rao, Poturaju Rambabu, Valavala Yugandhar, Poturaju Nagasurya Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Murthy and E Satyanarayana. 

The six members hail from East Godavari district.
