Present sapling instead of bouquet: Collector Karthikeya Misra

Rajamahendravaram: East Godavari Collector Karthikeya Misra has appealed to the people to present saplings instead of flower bouquets to their friends, kith and kin at the time of giving sendoff and welcome at the airport.

Inaugurating a nursery stall of Satyadeva nursery in the airport here on Tuesday, he said presenting of saplings helps to bring awareness on environment protection and also plant the saplings in their backyards.

The prices of the saplings are also within the reach of the passengers coming to the airport and underlined the need to protect environment. 

He asked the nursery stall owners to provide fresh sapling at moderate prices.

Airport director M Raj Kishore, municipal corporation Commissioner Sumit Kumar, Sub-collector CM Saikanth Varma, Korukonda Tahsildar Riaz, Satyadeva Nursery owners Pulla Veera Venkata Rao, Pulla Satyanarayana, Pulla Anjaneyulu and P Krishna were present.
