Sanitary staff seek pending salary, PF in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: About 40 sanitary employees working at Mandadam and Venkatapalem villages under the capital region of Amaravati demanded that the government pay salary along with deducted Provident Fund amount.

In this regard, the employees under the aegis of CITU held a protest at the CRDA office at Lenin centre here on Monday.

A memorandum was submitted to the CRDA Commissioner asking to pursue the matter and do justice by paying the pending salary.

Speaking on the occasion, CPM state leader Ch Babu Rao said that about 40 sanitary employees working in the capital region staged protests for the last 15 days demanding that the government pay three months salary along with the deducted 19 months’ PF of Rs 16 lakh. 

A complaint was lodged and no action was taken in this regard. However, the government was ignoring the issue as the contractor was absconding, said Babu Rao.
