TDP cares for toddy-tappers, says MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary

 Rajamahendravaram: Rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary has said that Telugu Desam government is implementing many welfare schemes for BCs.

Partipating in toddy-tappers meeting held here on Thursday, he said Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu was always thinking about the welfare of toddy-toppers, Gowda, Settibalija and others and introducing many schemes for them.

He advised the toddy-tappers to search for alternative as toddy-tapping profession was slowly disappearing. 

He assured to sanction moped and an amount of Rs 2 lakh for construction of houses. 

Naidu would increase BC loans shortly and steps would be taken to sanction a pension of Rs 1,000 to toddy-tappers who are above 50 years of age. 

At present, Chandranna Bheema scheme applies to them.

MLC Adireddy Appa Rao called upon the BCs to come under one roof to get reservation on the basis of population.

Godavari Urban Development Authority chairman Ganni Krishna said Naidu was working for BCs. 

He underlined the need to support TDP in the ensuing elections.

Toddy-tappers Association president Reddy Mani, KK Kumar and many others were present.
