Sops to SC or STs who opt for inter caste marriage

Kakinada:  Andhra Pradesh SC/ST Commission Chairman Karem Sivaji announced that the SC/STs who opt for inter-caste marriage mode, will get Rs 70,000 cash incentive, employment provision besides police protection. 

Receiving representations from SC/STs at R and B guest house in East Godavari collectorate premises on Saturday, Sivaji said those who feel insecurity after the marriage could lodge a complaint with police seeking protection for them.

He said a ST cell will be started in East Godavari soon. 

Social welfare deputy director Sobharani and representatives of SC, ST organisations were present.
