Sugarcane farmers pour out woes to Jagan

Srikakulam: Janmabhoomi (JB) committees are harassing common people in the villages in all aspects, complained residents of several villages in Regidi, Palakonda, Rajam and Vangara mandals to YSRCP chief  Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Saturday. 

Jagan continued his Praja Sankalpa Yatra in Palakonda and Rajam Assembly segments in Srikakulam. On the occasion, people complained against JB committees that they were harassing them. They alleged that members of the committees were demanding bribes to include their names in welfare schemes. Responding to their complaints, Jagan assured to prevent such harassment after he assumes power. Villagers of Gopalapuram, Sankili and Mangalapuram explained their woes to Jagan as they were losing their crops during every rainy season due to Nagavali river floods.

They pointed out that the  proposed flood walls are yet to be completed. Jagan assured to finish works at a quick pace to prevent flood menace. In Regidi mandal, sugarcane farmers met the YSRCP chief and explained that the cultivation of sugarcane became tough due to government’s negligence and they sought his support to get rid of their problems. Leaders and representatives of Padmasali community requested Jagan to form a corporation for the welfare of their caste people and told him that they were ready to support YSRCP in the coming elections.
