Suicide bid: Man sets himself on fire

Nellore : A man at Naidupeta in the district attempted suicide by setting himself ablaze on Tuesday.  Local people, who noticed  screaming of the victim, put off the fire and shifted him to local hospital. He is identified as Raja, a native of the town who resides on Railway Station Road. 

The incident took place near Railway Station in Naidupeta town. According to locals, the man poured petrol on himself and set himself on fire. Passers-by poured water and alerted the police and 108 service. He was shifted to Naidupeta Government hospital initially. Later,  he was shifted to Nellore Government General Hospital for better treatment. Naidupeta Police registered a case and are investigating.
