VVIT gets deemed university status

 Guntur: Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology at Nambur got deemed university status for a period of ten years. The UGC granted autonomous status to the VVIT and sent a communication to the engineering college to this effect, according to college chairman Vasireddy Vidya Sagar.

In a statement he expressed his happiness for granting deemed university status to the VVIT by the UGC.

The college principal Dr Y Mallikarjuna Reddy said, “Deemed university status will be helpful to change curriculum according to the needs of the industry.”

He said as a result the students will be benefited and added that they are already imparting training to the students with the cooperation of Andhra Pradesh Skill Development  Corporation to improve their skills to get jobs.  

He thanked the college faculty, students for their cooperation to get deemed university status to the college.
