Kakinada Municipal Council meet adjourned amid uproar

Kakinada :  The Municipal council meet which was called to  clear 18  agenda  items on Saturday, was adjourned  when the opposition  BJP and YSRC members demanded details of housing  scheme beneficiaries. 

They alleged large scale irregularities in the scheme. Of the total allocations of 4,900 for East Godavari,  1,456 were cleared and out of them 1,152 houses cleared in the first phase. Under this programme deposits of Rs 25,000 each were collected from the beneficiaries.

The opposition YSRC and BJP demanded  details of beneficiaries as they alleged large scale graft in the allocation as extra amounts were collected from beneficiaries.

With shouts and counter shouts by ruling TDP on one side and YSRC and BJP on the other side, mayor Spavin adjourned the house for ten minutes. 

After the House reassembled, similar scenes continued  and it was adjourned again and as  the situation did not improve, the House was adjoined indefinitely.
 
Mayor declared that all the 18 agenda items were as passed by the House.
