Involvement of people in government schemes is most important- CM Ramesh

Kadapa: Rajya Sabha member CM Ramesh has said that development is not possible without participation of public in government activities. Addressing the gathering after inaugurating various developmental schemes in his native village Potla durthy as part of Janmabhoomi-Maa Oovuru programme here on Thursday he said government has been spending crores of rupees on developmental activities and welfare schemes but the aim of the government but the aim of the government fulfilled only after the proposed schemes reached at grass route level.

The Rajya sabha member recalled that government has spent Rs 430crores for storage Patti Seema  water in Gandi Kota Rservoir now water is being supplied to agriculture operations through Mylavaram, Chitravathi Balancing reservoir through 6 lift irrigation schemes. He said that government is planning to store 26tmcft of water in Gandikota reservoir by acquiring land in surrounding villages. He said government has spent Rs 1200 crores on Gandikota Reservoir for the last four years.  He said that  Rs 500 crores were spent  under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) in the current year  for the benefit of labor having handful of work in the district. He said Potla durthy village has secured Swatcha Grama  Puraskar in 2015, and Adarsa Grama award in 2016 year.  

District collector CH.Harikiran has said that following Potla Durthi village joined in Annamaiah Urban Development Authority, it has become under urban area as the people should have Rs. 2.50lakh subsidy under housing scheme comparatively Rs 1.50lakh in the earlier.  He said after Sankranthi festival administration is contemplating to organize meeting over the progress of steel plant. Collector has urged the people who were not having ration cards or houses, pensions, applied as they were immediately sanctioned during the Janma Bhoomi-Maa Oovuru programme. Later collector has inaugurated Rs 95crores worth developmental works in Himakunta village  along with MLC B.Tech Ravi, P.Ramasubba Reddy and other officials were present.
