Road safety week concludes in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: A road safety awareness programme organised by Mendu Rural Development Society with the support of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, New Delhi concluded here on Thursday. Earlier, Jana Jagaran Abhiyaan started on February 21.

The society chairman, Murali said that various competitions on road safety awareness like quiz and essay-writing were conducted at Pedana ZP School, Bapulapadu and Gannavaram ZP schools.

He said that a rally was organised by the Rickshaw Pullers from BSNL office to Ramavarappu circle. 

Quiz and essay-writings competitions were held at Bishop Grassi High School, Gunadala, ZP schools Vuyyuru and Pamarru, Sir Vidyaniketan School Krishna district during the week-long road safety awareness programme.

The winners of the competitions were given prizes on the concluding day. ADCP Madhava Reddy, Abhinav Kumar, EE Ministry of Road Transport, K Visweswara Rao, MVI and others were present.
