The SSC examinations will be held from March 18 to 30 in the State. The 10th class examination will be held between 9.30 a.m. and 12.15 p.m. Students have to attend special class from 2 pm onwards.

The MA & UD department also issued instructions cancelling the leaves to the teachers, who are dealing with the 10th class from March 6 to 30 keeping in view of the public examinations. These study hours will be conducted till the end of the exams.

The government as part of the efforts to strengthen the school education in the State has introduced English medium education and changed hundreds of Telugu medium schools into English medium schools.

Besides, urban local bodies (ULBs) like Vijayawada Municipal Corporation are taking special care of the students and conducting extra classes morning and evening for many years. All these efforts are yielding good results as the VMC schools are getting more than 85 per cent pass for the past few years. Now, another effort is being made to get the best results this academic year.

Meanwhile, some teachers’ unions are opposing the cancellation of leaves to the teachers dealing with 10th class till the end of the examinations on March 30th alleging that it was not correct as some teachers may fall sick and could not attend the duty due to illness or may not attend the duty due to other important personal reasons.
