Mr. Majnu is said to be the huge test for Akhil in his career to prove his potential at the box-office. Surprisingly, the film too failed to meet the expectations of the fans and the film audiences.

The film released amidst a huge buzz and expectations as the film's director Venky Atluri's debut film Toli Prema fared well at the box-office with $1 million in the USA.
