Prabhas to fall behind Charan?

Update: 2019-02-14 05:30 IST

The makers of much-awaited ‘Sahoo’ are reportedly demanding Rs 20 crore for Hindi satellite rights and expected to close the deal to very soon. “Despite Prabhas becoming a pan-India star, the Hindi channels are reluctant to cough up more money,” says a Hindi film distributor and adds “It doesn’t include Hindi theatrical release which would be traded off later since the spy thriller is being  made in three languages- Telugu-Tamil and Hindi.

Hence, it’s theatrical rights could fetch a bomb for producers. B-town star Shraddha Kapoor is playing the female lead, while Neil Nitin Mukesh is playing the dreaded baddy along with few more multilingual stars,” he adds. Nonetheless, Ram Charan Tej holds the record for bagging highest rate for Hindi dubbing rights of Rs 22 crore for his last release ‘Vineya Vidheya Rama,’ while superstar Mahesh Babu’s much-awaited campus story ‘Maharshi’ was sold for Rs 20 crore.

These whopping rates are unbelievable for Telugu movies till recently but Telugu superstars have changed the game. “Interestingly, Jr NTR’s last blockbuster ‘Aravinda Semetha….’ was traded for Rs 18 crore, hence Ram Charan stays ahead of his peers Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR and Prabhas in satellite rights” the distributor adds.  However, Prabhas is expected to outdo his peers in theatres all over India.“Sahoo’ will draw  sensational openings across India and Prabhas will have the last laugh.”
