Hyderabad: Each year, International Women's Day is celebrated globally on March 8 in order to recognise and honour the achievements of women worldwide and throughout history, as well as to continue to promote women's rights on an international level. The theme for International Women's Day 2019 is, 'Think equal, build smart, innovate for change'. The focus of the theme is on innovative ways in which to advance gender equality and the empowerment of women, particularly in the areas of social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure.

GITAM Deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad Women’s Cell celebrated ‘International Women’s Day’ at its seminar hall on Friday. K Sai Rama Devi, Prl District and Sessions Judge, Sangareddy has graced as chief guest on this occasion. ‘Once your enter into a college, you should fix a goal. You have to foresee ten years ahead.

 You should take what you should become. Come out of the comfort zone. Whatever you want to achieve, achieve it. Something comes out of inner feeling, implement it. When you are studying, you have to concentrate on studies. Always be preparing to learn from the experiences of others. 
Aim high, at least you can achieve the near around goal’ she advised the budding engineers. The judge shares her experience while achieving her goal as District Judge.

GITAM Resident Director DVVSR Varma, GHBS Dean & Director Prof Y Lakshman Kumar, Vice-Principal and HoD IT Department Prof M Akka Lakshmi also took part in the celebrations and conveyed their greetings.
