3 CPI Maoist couriers arrested

Kothagudem: Three CPI Maoist couriers were arrested on Sunday during a regular vehicle-check and patrolling at various places in the district, said Superintendent of Police Amber Kishore Jha. 

Speaking to newsmen at his office, the SP said detonators, gelatin sticks and wires were recovered from them. While Madivi Sammaiah and Deva were arrested under the Charla police limits, Mirga Arjun was nabbed in Bhadrachalam. 

He said the couriers were carrying the seized material for Maoists. Cases were registered against the trio by the police stations concerned. The SP claimed that the couriers had targeted police personnel. He appreciated the work of SIs in effecting the arrest. Among those present at the press meet were ASP Sunil Dutt and other police officers.
