Waqf Board office turns into a fortress

Hyderabad: For the first time in the history of the Waqf Board, the board meeting was held under tight security on Saturday. Visitors and even representatives of mosques were barred from entering the premises.  

It may be noted that recently, there was an attempted theft following which a police complaint was registered but till date there has been no progress. The CCTV cameras were not functioning on the floor where the attempted theft took place.

Ali, a regular visitor to the Waqf Board said, “Why so much secrecy? The chairs that are meant for visitors were placed as a barricade and visitors were not allowed. The Senior Congress leader Nizamuddin   questioned the meeting that was conducted in secrecy. 

He asked the officials that why people were stopped from entering the Waqf Board. Even as the police investigations are on, sources said that a file ‘Shariat Qadda’ was missing.
