Vikarabad: Residents of Rajiv Gruhakalpa colony on Monday staged a protest in front of the office of the RDO displaying empty pitchers demanding immediate tiding over of the drinking water crisis.

In all, 1808 families are living in the colony, which has no permanent assured drinking water facility. Every summer, the people have to face hardships for want of drinking water.

The representations made to officials and elected people’s representatives seeking redressal of the problem met with zero response, it is alleged.
They lament that the officials are supplying drinking water to the colony once in four days which is hardly sufficient.

The people have been purchasing drinking water at the rate of Rs 40 for a 200-liter drum in the absence of official drinking water supply through tankers. They seek permanent measures to solve the problem.
